Josh Giddey looks like a stud. OKC strikes again.

muzinger

How did Davion Mitchell do?

shupadupa

2-3-3 in 24 minutes on 1-6 shooting, with 0 steals, 0 blocks, plus-minus of -10. Pretty rough debut, I'd say.

spicypetedaboi

Also locked Dame up

NobodyInParticular-

16 minute difference between the two, worth noting. Just a single game tho, he'll bounce back.

spicypetedaboi

Well said I’ll keep my eye on him all season

BobRoss4Life

HB fucking balled tonight

HotTakesVendor

Good night for HB, got himself a new career high. And an equally rough night for Halliburton who was looking like pre-season Avery Bradley out there.

Daclitz

harrison barnes really hit 8 3s lol

PluggersLeftBall

blazers lost. today is a good day

sh1r0_n3k0

Dame 0-9 from 3s. I don't see how Blazers could be in top 8 of west this season.

Jonna09

It’s one game. Blazers have to sort out somethings, but Dame is not one of them.

carthaginian84

Duarte not looking too old to me

The-Truer-Facts

I mean he’ll be 29 by the end of his rookie deal. Curry was signing a Supermax with 2 MVPs at that age.

Kuminga

From a team perspective that is great value.

NobodyInParticular-

HALIBURTON NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MITCHELL!!!!!!

NobodyInParticular-

They nearly sold but Dame was too cold.

Kevon-Looneys-burner

Denver is scarier than Phoenix in the west

sh1r0_n3k0

Phoenix screw up their own chemistry from last season. Give max contract for old CP3 and they can't handle the Ayton situation properly. They probably could lose Ayton next season.

jalixi

He's a restricted free agent. They can still offer him the 5 year QO max or match any offer. The hand-wringing seems to be a lot of agent PR

sriracha82

Omg Kings bahhaaha. I really am rooting for them to make the play ins

x-gsom-ab612

Looks like the Hield ship has sailed for the Lakers. Hes ballin. Instead, they brought in the Warriors 6th man in Westbrook!

NobodyInParticular-

[Wiggins jumper looks really awesome.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wsK-t54FkM)

spandexrecks

40% 4pt szn here we goooooooo! He managed to hit 40% at one point towards the middle of last season but ended at a still career high 38%

Kuminga

What's the record for most 40% shooters on a team? Steph, Klay, Wiggs, OPJ, Beli, and Poole could all be capable...

BlankVoid2979

39% on catch and shoot\*

HotTakesVendor

He’s been really good on kick out 3s. As long as he can cut out the long 2’s he’s going to be efficient.

mansgotgame97

This seems so out of the blue but, Harrison B. on a contending roster would be quite the weapon. #bringembackboys

IsThisMe8

I'm actually surprised no contender tried trading for him these last 2 seasons.

HotTakesVendor

Contenders tried but Kings aren’t interested in a mediocre return. HB wants to play in Sac and that’s a big deal for that organization

sriracha82

A team like Portland or Denver could really use him

Jazon01

Yeah it’s sad he’s hasn’t been to the playoffs since he left us but he got that money

x-gsom-ab612

Bagley is out of the Kings rotation now. The Kings look better, after 3 years it looks like they are going to pull the plug. Like not even the bench big.

/u/NobodyInParticular-

NobodyInParticular-

Hey, you weren't meant to do that, he wanted to talk shit without getting my attention!

neo9027581673

Oubre with his typical 14pts on 17 shots. Oh and 2 three-points makes on 9 attempts. Yikes. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)

Dakroon1

So funny watching nearly everyone defend this clown last year. One of the worst bball IQs I've ever seen.

Kuminga

He had a uniquely terrible start to be fair, like out of the league terrible. He improved a bit but yeah... net negative on the court all season.

gsdubs123

Two more than he made with the warriors the first month of the season

Thrillawill

Is the Lakers sub a LeBron sub? Literally the only thing they post there is about LeBron, almost every single post. Absolutely nothing about any other player on the team, not even AD. I really wonder how many actual Laker fans take part in that sub.

blakeley

It’s probably all run by his Clutch folks…

redrio100_rtn

I mean, he’s the best player ever. Why shouldn’t they celebrate that?

kinefresh

yea if you were born in 2000 maybe

NobodyInParticular-

Well, I mean, yeah duh.

futureslave

I wonder if the Ws ever made a serious offer to Austin Rivers over the last couple seasons.

Ambitious-Set1308

What makes you wonder? Seems random

futureslave

Watching Austin play tonight, remembering all the rumors connecting him to his brothers-in-law here in SF. Both this off-season and the last. I’ve never been a fan of his but I wonder if he was ever under serious consideration.

mansgotgame97

What is in Tatum's head today. Dang. He really gonna lose them this game.

HotTakesVendor

Celtics new coach runs a motion offense and Tatum is the ISO King. Gonna be interesting to see how Tatum adapts.

Kuminga

Brown is a lot better at motion, very selfless player, explains why he was so lethal tonight. Tatum needs to wake up and realize when to defer to his teammates. Steph has always been great at feeding the hot hand whether that was Klay, Wiggins, or now Poole. That is the reason motion offense works, strength in numbers baby. I'll give Tatum a pass for the first game of the season and 2OT fatigue, but he will need to adapt and change some of his habits.

NobodyInParticular-

Wasn't his last shot an iso that could have saved them? Damn, Brown should have taken it.

DryDragonfruit2590

This celtics Knicks game will be on shaqtin

Ambitious-Set1308

It really goes to show your first year in the league doesn’t matter at all, we have seen all of these players have rough first years that turn into stats and super stars. It’s what you do to get better in year 2 and 3

[deleted]

The-Truer-Facts

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tN_hvfpndsI

NobodyInParticular-

We have the potential to go like 19-2 in the first 21 games.

Ambitious-Set1308

What 2 losses are you expecting just curius

NobodyInParticular-

So, from the Lakers game to the Raptors game, there are 17 games. We're at 1 now, 16 to go. Say we drop the Clippers game, the Hawks game and the Nets game. That means we can go 14-3. 19-2 was an exaggeration on my part lmao. Then we have a difficult 5 game stretch, perhaps 3-2 in it, probably closer 2-3, for 17-5, or 16-6, followed by another generous stretch.

Thrillawill

We arent losing to a Clippers team without Kawhi and Beverly. Poole and Steph are going bonkers that game. Lakers were our toughest match up. They were supposed to be the best team in the west.

NobodyInParticular-

I'm being conservative to make a point, btw. I think we're better than the Hawks and current Clippers but we're gonna drop a game eventually against the Hawks and the Clippers just so nobody complains.

Ambitious-Set1308

I like your thinking I think we will be the 1 seed for the first part of the season. Anything in top 3 by the end is a win for me

NobodyInParticular-

I also agree, I think we'll be the top 2-3 seed for the first 17 games till that rough stretch hits.

AllinBaby408

Chris duarte. Damn

mansgotgame97

Had we actually reached and picked him at 7, we woulda had steph lite and klay lite 😂 coming off the bench.

kingchar_006

Sheesh the Knicks-Celtics game is crazy wtf!

Daclitz

God i’m praying James Wiseman turns out to be great. Lamelo looks like he’s gonna be a superstar in this league.

BlankVoid2979

he doesn't need to be a superstar. just him being Ayton type player would be amazing for us. we really really need a center

Ambitious-Set1308

He’s such a good shooter too, his shot is very effortless and his energy transfer is so good that he can shoot super deep

sriracha82

It’s cute how Kerr has basically tied Iggy’s minutes to Poole as his babysitter haha, I think it’ll be good for him, Iggy can set him up and also keep him accountable on the defensive end or take over as PG for a few minutes if his passes get too wild.

IsThisMe8

Kerr still has Andre babysit Steph and Dray too when they start making too many turnovers. Lol

bringlincoln

Called this week's ago. Iggy is the NBAs best hype man.

mansgotgame97

My my my, 2020 top picks look special. Staying patient gets harder by the day when you see the production.

onlyrionny

Ants so fun man

kingchar_006

Ngl as a neutral it’s always nice hearing how noisy the Garden gets when the Knicks perform well. Reminds me so much of Roaracle, and how much I miss Roaracle.

MrOodle

I hate to be that guy… but man, imagine if we had LaMelo

The-Truer-Facts

I’m seeing the future… Poole is a common role player and Lamelo is only averaging 25 MPG while our bigs suck. Lamelo is nice but he’d be the third ball handler in the starting lineup and doesn’t have the scoring or Poole. He would be better than Wiseman rn but he wouldn’t be as good as he is in Charlotte. Promising young player not potential All-Star right now. I will never regret the choice draft night and in hindsight I won’t regret that choice unless Wiseman is bad through 2024.

Coolkiddddddddd

That’s why free agency exists

The-Truer-Facts

To sign who exactly?

bringlincoln

This might not age well if Wiseman progresses. Dude could be Giannis.

sriracha82

I can’t claim any foresight because I certainly didn’t want him with those shooting numbers in Australia, but it’s really a testament to him how much better he’s been in the league.

Coolkiddddddddd

He played 11 games in Australia, a bad sample size.

calviso

Monkey Paw. No way to know the Warriors have the team they do this year if they get LaMelo instead of Wiseman. You can't just say "everything is exactly the same -- just with LaMelo instead of Wiseman." Maybe they do better last year and instead of retooling with Bjelica and OPJ they run it back with Oubre and Bazemore. Also, if Warriors don't miss the play-in then maybe no Moody. And also, if you're giving all those reps at guard to LaMelo in 2020-2021, does Poole improve as much as he has? Is that really the possible future you want?

Coolkiddddddddd

Warriors wouldn’t have gotten oubre if they drafted Melo and would’ve signed a big instead

[deleted]

[удалено]

Schraiber

"What if we drafted him and were good last year!" is a weird monkeys paw

NobodyInParticular-

That seems like a massive misrepresentation of what he said..... Strawman and a half.

x-gsom-ab612

Hornets vs Pacers actually a pretty good game

Shadowhawk1983

Hornets getting the full Oubre experience

Thrillawill

2-9 from three. This dude thinks hes a shooter.

Shadowhawk1983

He thinks he's a scorer as well.

nicholasoday

Anyone else think the commentators were overly biased for LA last night? The overall tone when the Lakers were finishing plays was at level 9-10, compared to equally impressive plays by the Dubs at level 6-7. I know the league loves to suck Lebron's dick but still...

FearUncertainDoubt

I can't say. I almost always watch games on mute while listening to Jim Barnett and Tim Roye instead.

SpreeLove

It's going to be like that for the rest of LeBrons career. "What is this.. his 19th season?!"

Jonna09

Who was it - Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller? Reggie is a big Steph fan, but yeah ultimately they all probably have standing instructions to talk good about Lebron. It’s okay, I didn’t think it was too bad. I did notice that they get hyped about Poole though. Both this game and that last preseason game. They also appreciated the Warriors ball movement a lot.

IsThisMe8

I felt like the refs were clearly for Lakers but Reggie Miller did point out that Steph’s 3 point fouls were because the opponent was in his landing space and also mentioned about Lebron’s foul on Poole not looked at.

ocscottie

The entire media is so biased toward the Lakers it makes me sick. Calling them a favorite to win the title all off season when the realists know its an over the hill gang with shitty spacing and Westbrook is not a fit, period. Its just ridiculous.

TomatoBuster01

Im a big Jalen Green stan, so I am watching the rockets-wolves game, but DAMN...watching the rockets play is like torture for me after watching warriors' beautiful basketball yesterday. He's been doing great tho

Ambitious-Set1308

Huge rockets fan also, we have looked awful in pre season and awful today. No one on our team can score the ball efficiently. If players are shooting 33% from the floor I’m happy

TomatoBuster01

KPJ and Augustin looked really bad. Idk what they are doing sometimes

Ambitious-Set1308

KPJ just can’t shoot which is not good for someone who is supposed to be a elite scorer

TomatoBuster01

He's really streaky and he was really awful in dribbling in traffic or passing out of double teams

Ambitious-Set1308

Ya agreed the rockets are really looking rough, I’m not sure what we’re gonna do. Jalen is not nearly as good of a shooter i though. Wood hasn’t worked on his game at all from last year

TomatoBuster01

Don't worry about Jalen bro. I swear. He starts slow sometimes, but every facet of his game will pick up after a game or two. Same thing happened in the G-league. He needs to add some more mass though. Dont worry, you still have a young nice team. You got Sengun also who is rly nice

Ambitious-Set1308

I agree super hyped about sengun. I am just worried about jalens shooting. Shooting is such a huge part of the league now I don’t think you can be a star without great shooting unless your a wild exception. His form doesn’t look great that’s what makes me worredd

TomatoBuster01

I agree he still has issues to fix with his J, so i just want to reassure you that that guy is a tireless worker on his jumpshot. That shit looked horrible in hs with a 2 motion shot. It's worlds different now and a lot smoother. He has that Lamelo off hand tho which should be fixed. He has good arc on his shot, but he needs to fix gather sometimes. Shot selection is what you should worry abt him because it makes him streaky

Ambitious-Set1308

Agree off hand is a little questionable and that elbow looks a little too flaired. But I have heard great story’s about his work ethic. I hope he becomes great. Very excited for the future

Thrillawill

Im on the record right now. Wisemans development was botched last year by the team. Something happened during the season that tanked his performance and im curious to know exaclty what happened. Im not buying the injury excuse. He was getting conflicting info from multiple sources. I think coaches were telling him one thing, players were telling him another, and his network was telling him something completely different. The team sucked and he ended up confused. He debuted into the NBA with 19 points, six rebounds, and two steals. All the sudden he cant play basketball for the rest of the year? Something happened.

ocscottie

What I dont understand is everyone hyping him up, especially the media, to come in and contribute, when in reality how can he have improved? He has almost zero court time from last year. I really hope I am wrong and really like Wise and want his to succeed and be a baller, but you have to pay your dues, and he hasnt been able to yet. Guess we will see how it goes.

NobodyInParticular-

His weakness was positioning on offense. That's what kills net ratings. That can be fixed by film and a more focused role. That's the hope atleast.

NobodyInParticular-

We know practically nothing, but my guess is that there was a confliction on whether we wanted to throw him into the fire and let him do whatever or keep him in a focused role. I don't think the starting/off the bench drama was ever anything at all. I think his first game wasn't anywhere near as good as it seems, as he showed a lot of his flaws. His double double game for example was far better, not because of the stats, but because he understood the game better and had a bigger impact on winning. I don't think " all of a sudden he can't play basketball" ever happened. I think the side that wanted Wiseman to do whatever at the start won out and Wisemans games seemed better because he was going for stats. Eventually, his role was simplified and he had a larger impact on winning despite lower stats. He significantly improved, but the counting stats don't show it. That's just my theory and I admit there's very little proof. Just a sidenote, but I remember I think Kerr said our coaching staff could be immature last year. I wonder if how they dealt with Wiseman was involved.

NobodyInParticular-

Sometimes I forget how cultish this sub can be.

Chuckl8899

The answer is VERY

ImpressGlobal

How is oubre doing lmao

HotTakesVendor

Playing like Pacers are the one paying him.

Finaumenal

He’s still hot but he’s sucks at basketball

Random0cassions

Imagine being Damian Lillard and being a poor mans Jordan Poole.

darrylleung

Lamelo is a special player

raikou1988

He's going to be a superstar

The-Truer-Facts

Yup

Rich_Menu_9583

Coming here from r/sfgiants to say hell yeah revenge is sweet. #beatla. Never cared about the Lakers but they've now been looped into my hatred for the dodgers.

hotgur1

We Braves fans

x-gsom-ab612

A fadeaway 3 from Duarte to beat the buzzer. Wow

ocscottie

Excellent interviews with Belli and Kerr on LetsGoWarriors YT channel from today.

HotTakesVendor

Oubre making him look good.

Thrillawill

Does anyone realize how well Iggy played last night? He looked like he hadnt lost a step and went for 12 points and made plays. I heard rumors that he was "done" last year on the heat. He didnt look done last night. Far from it. Even defended LeBron and AD.

Chuckl8899

Certain guys look better on GSW than anywhere else. Looney and Green, for instance. You can throw Iguodala into that mix.

InfiniteDub

After our championship years you could tell he needed those years off vacationing in the east cos I swear it looks like he just picked up where he left off with us

BlankVoid2979

hard to call it a year off when he had a finals run with the heat

sh1r0_n3k0

Yeah, he also take a break about half of the season when he was on Memphis. Right now his body and mind are full locked in.

spankyourkopita

So is it only a matter of time before Russ is out of LA? I'm feeling IT vibes in Cleveland.

Chuckl8899

Russ for Ben Simmons? The Lakers could use Simmons’ perimeter defense. Westbrook might be a better fit with Embiid.

The-Truer-Facts

I doubt Morey wants Westbrook again. And I don’t like that fit either. You’re probably trading for a half year of Westbrook where you’re losing while he understands the system.

Chuckl8899

I’ll disagree. Morey is running out of options. Things could get very ugly in Philly. And Westbrook wouldn’t be the worst option. The Sixers need scoring from the guard position and Westbrook could pair well with Thybulle in the back court. Russ’ game fits the Sixers better and they’d be happy to give him the keys to the offense. And Embiid won’t have to worry about babysitting Russ the way he’s talking about with Simmons. In any event, his contract is up in 2023. For the Lakers, Simmons could be the missing piece of the puzzle. The Lakers have scoring, in Davis and James, but they don’t move the ball very well. Simmons would be an immediate upgrade on defense and could share ball handling with LeBron. I don’t think the Lakers are thinking of shedding Westbrook quite yet, but if they were, Simmons might be a better fit for them.

txensen

Doubt that does it. Might have to throw in LeBron as well

hotgur1

I honestly still don’t get why they went for him, honestly could’ve found an average guard who’d do better. Spent that big trade on actual shooters.

HotTakesVendor

It’s going to be hard to move that deal in-season. Lakers are kinda stuck with him.

warriorslover1999

If they are truly sucking ass by all star break, then maybe

ryeno

Labron won't waste a season so something's gonna change if they don't turn the ship

The-Truer-Facts

For what though? John Wall? There is no way they dump him to the Thunder right? Right????

HotTakesVendor

OKC probably doesn’t want him near SGA and Giddey.

spankyourkopita

How did we get Bijelica for so cheap and can we afford him next year?

Chuckl8899

From what I understand, Bjelica wanted to be on the Warriors. After Sac it must feel like heaven

by_yes_i_mean_no

I think OPJ is probably gone but I think Bjelica will probably re-sign because he seems to like being on the Warriors a lot and he's at that age where he might not just be looking for the biggest payday anymore. Although if OPJ proves to just be physically unable to be more than like a 10-15 minute player, perhaps the Warriors could re-sign him.

The-Truer-Facts

He was considered washed, I sure hope so. If we continue to load manage Porter maybe we can non-bird him and MLE Bjelica next season.

jusbolo

no more hate watching the twolves

by_yes_i_mean_no

It's a relief because I really like watching Edwards.

racharya55

What percentage of his old self do you guys think Klay will be when he comes back? I'm hoping he gets back to 80% of what he was by the end of the season but who knows coming off two years with no basketball.

Chuckl8899

That’s the wrong question. The real issue is, how well is Klay playing come playoff time.

hotgur1

It’s a bonus that we have wiggins to take on the hard assignments klay use to. I can’t wait for him to help with spacing and scoring. Shit what if he can slowly redevelop his defense and return to somewhat form.

calviso

95% on offense. 70% on defense. 82.5% total.

NobodyInParticular-

Agreed on this. I think his defense will look better than it is because he won't be guarding the best perimeter players anymore, that's Wiggin's job now. Really good fit there, the 90% offense is more important.

spankyourkopita

Thats the million dollar question.

SeekingSignificance

Honestly probably only like 50-60% for the first few weeks. By the time playoffs come around hopefully he'll be around 75%. I can see him eventually reach close to 85% of what he once was. I just think an ACL & Achilles kind of solidifies a major drop off, unfortunately.

racharya55

I think this seems realistic. I wonder how Kerr will use him in the rotation once he's in game shape.

Shadowhawk1983

We really can't judge the quality of the attempt made by Green and Looney. They might need a couple of weeks to get their conditioning up. Looney especially isn't used to being this aggressive on offense but it's good to see.

x-gsom-ab612

With the new bench, it makes Kerr's life easier as well. We roll out a line up of say Poole, Lee (eventually Klay), Iggy, OPJ and Beli at the start of the 2nd quarter. We can run the same sets as the starters. Poole as the scorer and Beli being the big man passer and shooter. Last season, you felt that the starters and the bench's dynamic was too different. We pinned our hopes too much on Paschall and his bully ball off the bench and once he got figured out it was unsustainable. Wanamaker's form dipping by game 30 didn't help matters either. The offense was already super simplified. So while I don't expect the bench to win every quarter for us this season, the floor is much higher than last year's because the way the bench runs the offense is more sustainable.

NobodyInParticular-

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgzxOAIsHBI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgzxOAIsHBI) Going like 12/14 from pretty deep 3s, I want him back...

Far_Ear9684

Draymond and Looney together is so bad offensively. Draymond complete aversion to layups continues. Defensively he’s still a monster tho. Having shooters is gonna be so great throughout the season man. We’re gonna lead the league in assists is my prediction.

hotgur1

Im hoping that they both work on their floaters/layups, shit if looney could get a decent post up game it’d be awesome. I’m not saying he needs to score 10ppg but instead of always kicking out he could get a few easy buckets.

Chuckl8899

If Bjelica continues to seamlessly mesh with the starters, he might end up being the closing big, as he was last night

Shadowhawk1983

Imagine Wiseman 2.0 alongside him. Nullifies any advantage the "big" era champions have but keeps our advantage with shooting and spacing.

Chuckl8899

Wiseman is all athleticism and no skill. Bjelica is all skill with limited athleticism.

Psychological_Bus_10

Steph saying he played like trash with an inefficient triple double is funny cause that's basically saying all those years westbrook averaging a triple double with horrible efficiency is basically trash.

DeleteNephew

You do know Westbrook wasn’t always inefficient right?

crRNA

Please let us all know the years in which Westbrook was efficient.

DeleteNephew

Not being inefficient isn’t the same as being efficient for one, you can be just average. But since you asked so nicely, every single year from 2011/12-2016/17 Westbrook had a ts+ of 100 or above, so exactly average or a bit better. Some of these seasons came on huge volume as well. He’s a shit scorer now, but there’s no need to retroactively shit on his past good seasons.

HotTakesVendor

It was most definitely a dig at Worstbrook

beentheredonesome

Stupid SFGate clickbait headline: "Warriors fans seethe after player GS cut shines for the Lakers" Really? How many fans? And seething? Really? 6 points = "killing it?" Dude came in and made 2-3 from three in a few minutes at the end of a game. One game. He was .222 from 3 in the preseason off 2/9 shooting. Last year with Houston he shot .270 from deep going 17/63. He comes in and goes 2/3 and everyone thinks we cut Dame Lillard. GTFOH, and you too SFGate. https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Avery-Bradley-lakers-debut-warriors-fans-upset-16549075.php?IPID=SFGate-HP-CP-Spotlight

HotTakesVendor

It’s not clickbait when you consider who reads the SFGate. Not Warrior fans.

x-gsom-ab612

Watched Beli's Euroleague highlights and wow he was super athletic. Dunking on rim runs, finishing alley oops like its nothing etc. Ofc this was during his athletic prime. But still has the same class and skills.

Jiraiyanamikaze

On an off night against a defense focused contender, we put up 120. When we’re hot, we’re going to light up that score board like we’re the nets. Also, Lakers ain’t winning the chip this year with that lineup. They won’t compliment each other.

shiroman99

Call me crazy but assuming the Nets stay without Kyrie the whole season, we can hang with them. The Nets are terrible defensively and we have the personel to light them up this year. The only team in the league im actually scared of is the Bucks. We will have issues stopping their length and athleticism

Psychological_Bus_10

We can take any team, but I think Giannis and the Bucks would be the worst match up for the warriors. No one can guard Giannis one on one on the warriors, at least if we are facing KD we can be physical with him.

crRNA

No one can guard KD. It’s just that Giannis has a better team surrounding him.

BlankVoid2979

we can slow down KD a lil, we literally have no1 to put on giannis.

shiroman99

True but we can throw Wiggins, Igoudala, and OPJ out there. They have no matchup for Steph and Poole

nomitycs

Holiday is close to the best option though. I'm just glad they've kept Budenholzer around because he's awful at making adjustments

sf_warriors

Lakers winning shit in Jordon Poole era

Thrillawill

Were winning it all this year once Klay and Wiseman comes back. Dont care what any of yall have to say. Fight me.

shiroman99

Subscribe Everybody in the media is parroting the same PR BS that "Oh it's just 1 game, we'll see how they progress" and then have the stupidity to turn around and argue that the Lakers will get better from here and make the finals. Why can't we get better too? We played our C+ game last night and still won. We have Klay, Wiseman, and Kuminga returning all in the next 2 months. I already think we have the deepest team in the league and we're about to get a whole lot deeper

mangotail

Any news about Poole's ankle?

GigiZola

he said he's fine

notappropriateatall

Game 1 was a great start. With the way the A's season ended and the Niners season is going it was nice to see the Warriors do a lot right tonight and get a win against the Lakers without needing Curry to go off. I've felt all off season that this team is gonna be way better than last year and already it feels more cohesive. Looking forward to a fun season, there's a lot to watch: The rooks and Wiseman's development, The new loom bench, the return of Klay and ofc The Chef doing some cooking.

vulcans_pants

I said months ago that Belli should start over Looney, and I feel vindicated now.

IsThisMe8

I disagree. Going back to last season, the team did great when Looney was the staring center. The problem if they move Draymond to center, there's a chance that he may pick up some early fouls and we can't risk that. This was a great game for Belli and he closed but for other games, I would think that it would be Steph, Draymond and Wiggins to close and then it can be any 2 depending on the matchup.

Baconator218

Kinda like him in the spark plug off the bench role to change up the game when needed, though he clearly is a more offensively impactful player.

Looney is a pro, does his job, pretty damn consistent night in and night out when healthy, I doubt they make a change unless he falls off a cliff skill wise. NB brought a much needed dynamic back to the team, I hope he can do that consistently. I don’t see him dropping 15-11-4 on near perfect shooting every night. Great thing is even half of those numbers on a fairly consistent basis would great. Giving us good punch off the bench is crucial.

I agree that Looney is a pro, but he’s just so limited physically. I honestly don’t know if another team would even roster him. He’s a ground-bound, undersized traditional center.

Jiraiyanamikaze

He’s a center that can’t be pick and rolled out of the rotation in a playoff series. Every team would sign him for the vet min if they could.

Dubznation300

Still think he’s more lethal coming off the bench and closing

vulcans_pants

He can start and close. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Kerr wants to keep his minutes low considering he's 33. Looney's good at soaking up early minutes leaving Bjelica for the important closing minutes.
