I'm glad someone else remembers when Ultimatum was framed as the necessary nerfing of power creep league. I remember people repeatedly saying it was "detox league" after getting atlas skill trees in their first state and harvest again... Where did that go? Idk, feels weird man.

Its ultimatum was a detox, this league is full blown chemotherapy.

Its definitely necessary, a lot of builds before this patch were optimizing around reserving 95%+ of their mana pool and keep spamming spells. If we take a second and consider how crazy that is compared to any freaking game, normally we have virtually 0 mana regen in combat and are allowed to use a potion once per fight. Also its pretty interesting that we strive to scale one spell as high as we can and spam it ad nauseum, its going to be interesting in PoE2 (since we create links in gems and not in gear) if we start to have different spells for different occasions like one "ultimate" spell that costs way to much mana etc. I think we saw their goal in terms of speed of the game when Fist of War came out along side the rise of Slams + Exerted attacks. Now that they've butchered movement speed it will be interesting if they are satisfied.

Good thoughts, thank you.
