Ive always called it -bird in the nest-
Egg in the nest is what I call em. I like to do it with Texas toast and just make a grilled cheese toaster with bacon or ham.
Yum! Looks great!
Gotta call it “egg in the hole”, not eggs in holes! But looks great; family favorite of mine.
Eh I’m just messin, that’s what I call them too. :) But who ever has just one?
time to up the level of difficulty... make one of these and use it for the top slice of another sandwich... grilled cheese? hamburger? BLT?
I do this all the time with Texas toast, cheese and bacon or breakfast ham.
How do you cook the egg all the way without burning bread?
butter. I usually melt some butter in the pan while its warming up, butter one side of the bread... put bread in pan butter side up (so I have some butter when I flip it over)... then put the egg in the middle.
Someone somewhere called them “toads in holes”. So I called them that to my kids, and they found it hilarious, so they’re now officially toads in holes in my family.
