As I write this the current going rate for gold is 57.87$ a gram and Missouri dispensaries are asking 80$ for 0.5 gram carts even before tax. The prices are insulting at this point and laughable.

All we can do is NOT buy them. That’s the easiest way to collectively show them that their price fixing of items like this is blatant and obvious. Or if it’s NOT straight up corruption, then it’s pure greed, which is just as awful seeing as this is a MEDICAL program!!! No goddamn half G cart is worth $90 after taxes. I got 12/$100 1g Moonwalker brand carts on special at a dispo in Oklahoma not too long ago. These MO prices are a fucking JOKE!

BakedMOSTLy

It’s even more frustrating when you get back from visiting CO where Keef drinks go for about $10, carts start at $20, and you can easily find $100 zips… for rec

CacknBullz

I should have stocked up more

RegularNo846

Key word for rec. Colorado is about 10 years ahead of us

BakedMOSTLy

Yeah it is a key word. I noted that because those are rec prices and I think most people would agree that medicine should have better access than rec, which includes pricing.

ustmnt

Get out of here with your logic/reason. If you think our prices are high for any reason other than some grand evil conspiracy (as opposed to, you know, basic capitalism), gtfo

BakedMOSTLy

My concern is that the framework in place limits competition, one of the major frameworks being worked for rec touts limiting competition as a net positive. This would, IMO, put serious risks on our pricing getting much better and especially in any reasonable amount of time. ETA: took me a few reads to figure out where you were coming from because basic capitalism and conspiracy can exist at the same time - one of those forms is through an oligopolies and monopolies. By limiting the maximum number of operating licenses, it effectively creates an oligopoly. In our case, an effort (conspiracy) to maximize profits (basic capitalism) among a small group of players.

newguywithhair

Or when you go to Kansas and get locked up for a couple grams. Perspective works both ways.

BakedMOSTLy

I’m not sure what perspective you mean. I was just talking about pricing (especially calling out the Keef pricing) in CO while I was visiting. I didn’t bring anything back. I was just visiting friends and wasn’t advocating anyone go to CO for product - Kansas aside - it seems like OK would be your cheaper/safer bet if one was inclined to risk importing.

jordanaustin

Guys, Oklahoma was the exact same price when they started up their system. And that's without all the Missouri crap. You've got dispensary owners on this sub saying that they are paying that high of a price right now. If we don't buy / support Missouri, then it will never get better, and the system will fail. It's not like these guys can go to Oklahoma and buy product at the same prices they do, after the 3 years they've been given to build up their system and lower their prices.

JustEndMySuffering85

Yeah I guess you’re right bro. It does take time, and we want instant gratification 😆. Damn I’m too impatient lol!!!

jordanaustin

Everyone’s frustration here is justified, and people need to stand up for what’s right. I get it. Props for being man (or woman) enough to see an outside view.

mrsdex1

Why are you comparing a free market to a capped license system?

RedgrumGrinboldt

Well until someone is selling affordable quality carts, people will buy the expensive ones.

katybeckhas

Yeah, sadly not all of us can go to OK or CO to stock up, and black market carts are so dangerous.

Show-me-state-dank

This “medicinal” program is a sham. Why in the flying fuck is a product made from literal flowers that grows nearly everywhere more expensive than a non-renewable resource? Greed is a hell ofa drug. Then there’s people on here claiming “most caregivers are drug dealers.” Wth is this then? Should we call the licensed cultivators/dispensary’s drug larcenists? Cuz they are clearly stealing from people. I am more than grateful for the steps our state has taken the past few years regarding cannabis. Yet, we are witnessing the illegal traditional free market turn into a legal restricted market before our eyes. Say what you want about traditional market cannabis vs legalized. I know there are a ton of shady people out there dealing on the streets. I’m just not too sure if people in suits asking x4 of normal costs is any less shady.

lasleytmichael

Same as Illinois. They know they can charge it, so they do. Hopefully, as more product begins to flow to dispensaries, things will come down.

stillman34

And the craziest part about it is that the state is just taking ALL of the money and lining the pockets of people that are over regulating and not helping. Ridiculous.

HaychOiVee

Capitalism is decay is screwing over med patients here. It really sucks brother, solidarity.

_StickyNuts

Posted on Facebook tagging all the dispensarys lol they will definitely block me. Someone is going to get sensitive and their feelings hurt. Mainly people who actually own the dispensary. Lol idc they all have their hands in the cookie jar!

BjornMagnusson

The only way to get away from being robbed is to grow your own, extract your own. r/MissouriHomegrownRx

Cannonballblues62

Usery by grifters .

Ozarkmtnbear

This is my best comparison ain't no extracts worth more than gold

RedgrumGrinboldt

I can't get medicated off gold.

ustmnt

Not directly. You could trade gold for medicine though. Barter system, baby

Ozarkmtnbear

That's right but goin in your pockets that deep is pretty criminal. I pay 100 for 11g

Tylertwoforty

The fact its medical. And they are literally "banking" on people who have turned to the medical uses of cannabis such as older people and those who actually NEED this plants medical benefits really disgusts me. You couldnt pay me 20+ an hour to budtend this stuff to the less knowing public just looking to get healthy an medicated. I'd feel horrible about it.

Downtown_Material_41

My guess is a lot of plp go to work as bud tender to get employee discounts; sad but prolly only cheap way to get mo medical 🤷🏻‍♂️

newguywithhair

What do you do for a living that is so noble?

Tylertwoforty

What I do for a living is irrelevant? I dont see the correlation to the topic at hand?

newguywithhair

You are suggesting that the people working in dispensaries have blood on their hands or that they should feel some type of way because of how they make their money. Or are you suggesting that you’re somehow better than they are because your values are worth more than $20/hr. Not the first person I’ve seen on this sub to suggest that bud tenders are guilty by association in some sort of scheme to keep prices high.

Tylertwoforty

If you really think that I think Bud tenders are the reasons why product is high then you must be high yourself. I didn't insinuate nothing along those lines. I stated my opinion and you got your feathers ruffled up. So again I will state, You couldn't pay me $20 an hour to sell this over priced nonsense to people that dont know any better. Not because I'm better than anyone but general principles to my own morals. Again that's my opinion so don't get your butt so cramped up about it.

DeificTerror7

Oof. This really puts things in perspective

PrimosOG

Dispensaries prices are mostly a product of the cultivators and manufacturers. Sadly, in order to operate, some have no choice. Others that are vertically integrated have more flexibility. Until all of the the cultivators are up and running, prices will stay where they’re at. Comparing Missouri year 1 medical market, to a 13 year old market that includes recreation in Colorado is also laughable. Yes, it sucks, but it’s the nature of the beast due to the laws Missourians voted into effect. My best advice to everyone on here complaining is to make sure you read these new recreational initiatives and ensure you campaign for the one that allows the most free market enterprise with fewest restrictions to enter the market. This is the only thing that will lower prices and allow the cream to rise to the top naturally. Competition is key in capitalist market to keep prices lower and to drive quality standards up.

CacknBullz

And the c4 ice water hash at 50 for a half g lol u can make that ice a jar and some strainers

Sketchyvibe

I’ve been seeing Clovr carts for $69 now, lil better

brandmonkey

Not for a half gram it’s not. It’s insane.

Downtown_Material_41

Clovr’s got the chance of savin reputation of being greedy by taking their carts down to 25-30$ first; be the ones to lead the way to cheaper prices since they have been gouging the longest but my guess is they won’t do it anytime soon..

CacknBullz

Or 70 for a half gram of crumble that I can make any day of the week.

kcweedblog

I just bought a gram of Proper Diamonds for $101 out the door. I get my bulk flower from a caregiver but I need concentrates for the work days.
