This could be a vet trip. There's lots of imbalances in small dogs that can cause behavior changes like this. I hope your baby is [email protected]
We went through this as well with my 17 year old Chihuahua. Physically she was fine but over the last year her cognitive abilities really started to go.
It was really subtle stuff at first. Like being afraid of fireworks for the first time in her life. Then it progressed after about 6 months very rapidly. She would wander around the house looking for us and couldn't stand to be away from us for any amount of time. And also just a restlessness to her she couldn't sleep she couldn't do anything like that.
The vet recommended the senilite and CBD oil but it was unfortunately too little too late. I've also heard good things on snuffle mats for feeding. Basically have to work a little bit for their food and this helps the cognitive ability to stay sharper. I would recommend a trip to the vet and maybe look into the feeding mats and senilite.
Best of luck to you and hug your dog for me.
My boy is also 13 and has been having some issues as well, I started him on Ceva Senilife (which has awesome reviews, google it and take a look yourself!) it's like a vitamin for your pup, I got mine off Walmart RX. Don't need a prescription and should be safe! If he's having issues, maybe look into it! My boy has been on it for a month now.
Have you noticed any improvements over the past month?
I think it’s too soon to tell, it’s supposed to take a few months! It’s definitely not hurting and brings me some peace of mind that I’m doing what I can. I do notice a slight difference, he is very anxious of sounds (he never had an issue before) and would run home on walks (which are his fav thing ever) any time he heard the slightest noise. The other day he got scared but powered through it which he wasn’t doing before! Not sure if it was the senilife or him feeling courageous but I’m happy 🥰👍🏻
I do see it’s a total life saver for a lot of others though! Especially if what we’re both experiencing is age related.
